Sculptra - Polylactic Acid
Polylactic acid also known by the brand name New Fill or Sculptra is used in cosmetic surgery as treatment for fine lines, wrinkles and furrows. The filler is used as it works by stimulating the growth of collagen which is a structural component of the skin. The collagen is also available in the other body tissues and it is basically the development of a thicker layer of skin which fills out the wasted regions of the cheeks.
Polylactic acid is not immunologically active, and thus cannot cause any allergic or inflammatory response. In addition, unlike any other known older methods of cosmetic implants, this product has the option of broking down and getting totally absorbed by the body.
